Privacy policy
ShopThis page explains what personal information So Much Scents ("we", "us") collects through somuchscents.co.uk, why we need it, who we share it with and the choices you have. We are a small UK hand-poured candle, wax melt and car diffuser business based in Romford, Essex, and we keep this simple.
What we collect
- Order details — your name, email address, phone number and delivery address, plus what you bought.
- Account details — if you join, your name, email, saved delivery address, past orders and subscription status.
- Fragrance and sample requests — the name, email and address you give us so we can reply or post a sample.
- Newsletter choice — if you opt in to our email newsletter, your email address and that choice.
- Anonymous page views — only if you accept optional cookies, so we know which scents are popular.
Payments
Card payments are handled entirely by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe processes the payment securely on our behalf and passes us only a confirmation and the amount paid, so we can match it to your order.
Why we use your information
- To take payment and deliver your order.
- To send you confirmation and delivery emails about that order.
- To let you see your past orders and reorder favourites in your account.
- To reply to fragrance and free sample requests.
- To send our newsletter, but only if you have signed up for it.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We use it only for the reasons above.
Who we share it with
Only the services needed to run the shop: our payment provider (Stripe), our email delivery service, and our hosting and database provider. Each of them processes your information on our instructions only. We also share your name and address with the postal or courier service, of course — otherwise nothing would arrive.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for six years, because UK tax law requires it. Newsletter and account details are kept until you ask us to remove them or unsubscribe. Sample and fragrance requests are kept until we have answered them.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (unless we need to keep it for tax records). You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email, or by getting in touch. To make any of these requests, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
